Happy New Year — Welcome 2022

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to you, my blogging family.

I feel so blessed to have found such a community of beautiful people.

I appreciate you all in ways you will never know.

With you all I learn and grow and each new day finds me chomping at the bit to share my words and imbibe wordy manna from you all.

I get so excited, I feel like I’m visiting a playroom with my most favorite friends.

Back in the old country, today is “Old Years Day” and is an important day of the year.

Tonite would be the big dance party and I remember as a child watching my elders get excited and prepare and go off to the dance.

I looked on with excited eyes, I loved their camaraderie and love for each other and I could not wait to join in the fun.

Alas, that never happened, because by the time I was old enough, they had all ventured to different shores, seeking their life’s paths — but those are some sweet memories.

The morning after the party, I would listen to all the gossip about what happened the night before.

This is the final day of 2021 and this year has challenged and forced us to adapt and grow.

We are still standing!

I am thankful for the lessons learned.

I also feel some sorrow for the people I loved that are not present in physical form as I head into another new and hopeful year.

I remember them with love and I know they are with me in spirit.

They are happy, at peace, and truly missed, always.

What have I done thus far?

My publication “Our Souls in Words” was birthed this year.

My writing commitment was renewed and I am in it for the long haul, I cannot envision an ending to this relationship.

I have a few literary works in the pipeline and I have ideas for a few more.

I have met many of you my wonderful friends out here.

I have learned so much from you all.

To set goals or just let life unfold?

Like many of you, I feel the need to both set goals and to just let life do its thing.

Like my grandma loved saying, “man appoints and God, dis-appoints”. Not meaning that God disappoints us but that He determines what if anything will be done.

This is His world, we live in it😏.

So as tempted as I am to make lots of plans, I will mostly try to let life unfold, trust God and go with the flow.

It’s better that way.

This is my prayer

As we march into 2022 with the hopeful hearts of the young, I pray that we will be greeted by a friendlier universe.

May God be merciful to us.

May the darkest days already be behind us and as we step forth in faith and obedience.

May the mist clear revealing the warm rays of sunlight on our faces.

May the new year bring peace, joy, more love, and prosperity for all.

May we begin to see each other as soul connections emanating from the central source as we find brotherhood with our fellow humans.

May the barriers of language, skin color, and ethnicities be stripped away as we become more enlightened.

May the days be filled with the tinkling laughter of children playing together.

May we find in each other that spark of the divine.

May we grow in love and peace…

The publication and I have grown so much this year.

As we conclude 2021 and step over the threshold of a new dawn, we hope to leave much of our grief and pain behind, while looking towards the future with great hope.

We hope to find kinder times in the new dawn with the birth of the realization that we need each other to survive and succeed.

With the community in our hearts may we take the necessary steps to protect our brothers as ourselves.

I pray that we each become a kinder version of ourselves.

I wish each of us strength as we embark on the New Year.

I wish you God’s peace.

Welcome 2022

  1. I love this: “let life unfold, trust God and go with the flow”. That is how I tend to operate. I make plans when necessary but hold them loosely, looking out for how God may decide to redirect.
May you find the blessings that God has been saving up for you for this coming year. May you find both the Spiritual and physical water, light, bread, and breath that you need for a joy-filled life. May your spiritual and physical garden produce much fruit. Blessings for the new year! ❤
