New York — A City Like No Other

Yalani

Yesterday my daughter and I were walking down an avenue in Brooklyn just doing a little “mild” shopping. My daughter was born in New York, in Manhattan, but we moved to Texas when she was five years old. She missed out on the big apple experience. As such she has not had many of the New York experiences and on this visit she marvels at the things she sees.

We saw this man just casually strolling along with this snake on his shoulders … just in the general public. So we asked to take his picture and he happily posed for us.

Snookums

Snookums went off to Coney island with his older sister and brought back lots and lots of candy (which I have to monitor and hide away — dental work is so expensive later on).

These are actually gummies they bought at Coney Island.

Those gummy bears are huge and the smaller ones are three dimensional. The children are having a blast trying new and fun things and eating all manner of NY foods.

Gee has a small boat, he loves fishing and so do I, the children are learning and were able to drive it and surprisingly had tons of fun and did an excellent job of driving. Snookums has a need for speed it seems — he had me landing on my butt once or twice as I was not prepared when he hit the gas. All in all it is good fun to see the children happy and doing different things as they had been cooped up in the house for several months.

That is young Snookums at the wheel — doing a great job.

Then it was Ms. Yalani’s turn and she was quite pleased with herself as well. Since she has not begun driving cars yet, this was quite fun for her. She loved it!

Thank you for indulging us….

Be well!

  2. You make me miss walking the streets of NYC. You never know what’s around the next corner!
And hey, any day spent on the water is a good day… even if you’re on your butt.
